6 Dec – Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot who is most known for "The Fast and the Furious" and being 2004's representative of Israel for Miss Universe will portray Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel.
The actress scored the role that has been widely coveted and discussed by many comic and movie fans, and many of them did have opinions on their own perfect Wonder Woman, which is why the news of Gadot as the superhero raised questions and a lot of reactions.
"Here's hoping the new Wonder Woman LIVES in the gym... Muscles!" tweets a fan regarding Gadot's frame.
"A little disappointed that Wonder Woman looks so willowy I could break her," tweets another.
However, some other fans, including cartoonist and illustrator Noelle Stevenson, rebuked the Gal Gadot naysayers, calling for optimism and support.
"Pessimism/cynicism for how a female character might be treated looks a whole lot like hating a female character for no reason sometimes," she wrote in a tweet.
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favourite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character," says director Zack Snyder.
Gal Gadot will join Henry Cavill and the also controversial casting Ben Affleck as Batman in the "Man of Steel" sequel.
