Cinema Online was there on 27 May 2011 when the Odeon Cinema KL was reopened.

27 Feb – The historic Odeon Cinema KL located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman will be permanently closed from 28 February 2015 onwards.

Erected in 1936 by The Cathay Organization, the standalone Odeon Cinema had a single hall located upstairs with a seating capacity of 250.

In 2006, the ground floor of the building was converted into a second screen, but that was short-lived as the cinema closed in 2010 under the management of its owner, Pyramid Saimira Theatre.

The cinema was reopened on 27 May 2011 with a single 250-seater hall by Antenna Entertainments, which is also one of the local distributors of Bollywood titles in the country.

A look at the interior of the cinema.

The Odeon Cinema KL now joins other Bollywood cinema hotspots of yesteryears; TGV CapSquare which closed two years ago, the Wilayah Complex cinema which closed 15 years ago, the cinema at Central Market which closed 10 years back as well as Petaling Street's famous REX cinema.

Other cinemas that are located nearby the Odeon Cinema KL is the Lotus Five Star (LFS) owned Coliseum KL cinema that's also along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and the newly reopened Suara Screens Federal Cinema located at Jalan Raja Laut, which continues to operate and screen the latest Tamil films and the occasional Bollywood titles.
