Le French Festival 2016 launches with "Caprice"

"Caprice" is the opening film for Le French Festival 2016.
12 May – Le French Festival 2016, formerly known as the French Art & Film Festival, has kicked off its 15th edition in Malaysia today.
The opening ceremony was held yesterday at GSC Pavilion KL, attended by GSC CEO Ms. Koh Mei Lee, President of Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur Y.A.M. Tengku Zatashah binti Sultan Idris Shah, the Ambassador of France H.E. Christophe Penot and more.
"This festival is especially close to our heart," said Ms. Koh Mei Lee in her speech. "It was our first film festival when we opened our international screens in Mid Valley in 1999."

A total of 14 movies will be screened at the long-running film festival this year, including the English version of "The Little Prince", a 2015 animation movie based on the popular French novel "Le Petite Prince"; the Chinese language French film "The Wolf Totem" starring Feng Shaofeng; and opening film, "Caprice".
Moreover, the festival is bringing to Malaysia not only great French movies but also French icon Mélanie Thierry.
Fans of the actress will have a chance to meet her as she will be hosting a Q&A session after the screening of her film, "The Princess of Montpensier", on 19 May at GSC Pavilion KL at 7.30pm.

Organised by the Alliance Française and the Embassy of France in Malaysia, the film portion of Le French Festival 2016 takes place from today until 29 May at GSC Pavilion KL, GSC Mid Valley Megamall, GSC Nu Sentral and GSC 1 Utama.
The film screenings will then move to GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang from 2 to 12 June 2016.
