Watch 1996's "Independence Day" for free at TGV Cinemas

Catch "Independence Day" for free this weekend!

10 Jun – Fans of "Independence Day", here's your chance to watch the 1996 disaster movie on the big screen once again!

TGV Cinemas will be screening the movie for free from this weekend onward.

Not only will fans get to watch the first movie for free, during the screening, they will also stand the chance to win sneak preview tickets to watch the upcoming sequel, "Independence Day: Resurgence", on 21 June.

"The movie was exhilarating and one of the biggest disaster genre movies in the '90s. The free screening will be an opportunity for those who have watched it to experience it once again on the big screen," said Celeste Koay, Head of Marketing Services of TGV Cinemas.

"Besides, it also allows the younger generation to have a better understanding of the fight in 1996 and the invasion in the upcoming sequel."

"Independence Day" will be screened for free on Saturday, 11 June and Sunday, 12 June.

It will also be held on the following weekend of 18 and 19 June.

Here is the schedule of the screenings. Do be there an hour before the movie to collect your ticket at the cinemas 'Recruitment Centers':
