25 Aug – Aaron Kwok recently expressed his sadness over the death of Hong Kong director Benny Chan.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who worked with Benny in the 2005 film "Divergence" that enabled him to win Best Actor at the 42nd Golden Horse Awards, stated that the news of Benny's death not only shocked him, but was difficult for him to accept at first.

"He was an important person in my acting career. From "A Moment of Romance II" to "Divergence", he used to give me a lot of assistance in my performance.

He was a spiritual mentor, a good friend, and a good person. I will miss him forever," he said.

Meanwhile, fellow actor Louis Koo, who had worked with Benny in movies like "Connected" and "Rob-B-Hood", told the media he was heartbroken over the news of Benny's death.

Benny Chan passed away on 23 August, several months after he was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer.

He was 58.
