Watch this if you liked: “Ocean’s 11”, "Blue Streak" and “Tropic Thunder”

This is a film everyone expected to fail miserably, especially when we found out Brett Ratner ("X-Men: The Last Stand") is the director. Surprisingly enough though, it turned out to be way better and funnier than expected, yes, the plot is unbelievably dumb, but Brett was right to think that the audience would never watch this film expecting an "Italian Job" kind of plot. It's supposed to be a comedy and it was undoubtedly one.

The story goes like this; Ben Stiller plays the superintendent of a high rise luxury tower, where the residents were led to believe that they've been tricked into a Ponzi scheme by a billionaire who lives in their building. Reeking with vengeance, they bail a criminal (Eddie Murphy) out of jail to aid them in regaining their lost savings. Strangely the story works, Ben and Eddie (both who've not had a very good track record in their past few "comedy" films) were at the top of their game in this film.

There were scenes that would make you laugh out loud and some that might just leave a little smirk on your face. But the overall feel of this comedy film is a very good one, the main and supporting casts had character driven humour that were absolutely lovable. Many one liners to keep you entertained throughout, though there will be a few that won't be as funny as the writers had intended.

So to top off an already successful production, the actual heist itself was intelligently written and felt very original. A very refreshing and over-the-top funny film has been made and no one would expect it to come from a director like Brett Ratner. Surely one not to be missed once it hits the big screen.
