Nae lives in a small village in East Romania when a telegram arrives telling him that his long lost uncle Luca has died. One of the deceased`s last wishes is to be buried in the cemetery of his hometown in Sulina, Romania. When Nae and his mother gets to the deceased`s house on the Atlantic coast, they meet a shaman, Ata, who was Luca`s best friend. Ata tells them that Luca`s fortune was lost and the only thing left is an unusual yet intriguing coffin.
Nae tinggal di sebuah kampung kecil di Timur Romania. Kemudian sepucuk surat sampai memberitahu bahawa bapa saudaranya, Luca telah meninggal dunia. Dalam kandungan surat itu, Nae dan ibunya disuruh ke Perancis. Satu daripada hajat bapa saudaranya ialah untuk minta dikebumikan di kampung di Sulina, Rumania di Laut Hitam. Apabila mereka pergi ke Atlantik, mereka telah berjumpa dengan kawan baik Luca, Ata yang merupakan seorang pawang. Mengikut tradisi Rumania, roh perlu mencari tubuh yang hidup untuk didiami dalam masa empat puluh hari berkabung. Roh Luca memilih untuk mendiami badan Nae.
