15 Oct - They might have missed the press preview two weeks ago but Indon pair Titi Kamal and Christian Sugiono made it to the gala premiere of their film "Tipu Kiri Tipu Kanan" last night at GSC 1 Utama. The two real life lovers play opposite each other in the movie. Reportedly made for RM 2.8 million, nusantara comedy "Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri" is an international collaboration between Malaysia's Astro Shaw and Tarantella Pictures that was shot around the Klang Valley as well. Other cast members such as Hans Isaac and Natasha Hudson also graced the night, along with the dignitaries from the Indian Embassy who are friends with director Sharad Sharan. The director said: "This movie is the widest releasing Malaysian movie in Indonesia and it is still playing after five weeks. It opened in 51 screens! We are very proud of what we do and I just want people to have fun and enjoy the movie because it really is a fun movie. We have another joint-production coming up called 'Teman Selamanya' which we just wrapped up in Jakarta. We really are working to show off our movies to the world!" Titi Kamal, who last visited Malaysia last year during her "Mendadak Dangdut" premiere at Cineleisure Damansara, was busy recording the events of the night with her videocam for souvenir. However when the press hounded her, she had to ask others to help her, among them the film's director. More pictures of the event are available in the Cinnamon's Diary section. "Tipu Kanan Tipu Kiri" opens tomorrow, 16 October 2008 at cinemas nationwide.
