19 Jan – KRU Studios has been a pioneer in filmmaking for Malaysia's movie industry and this time they will be providing moviegoers their first 3D local movie experience with Nizam Zakaria's directorial debut, "Cinta Kura-Kura". The movie saw the collaboration between Technicolor's Asian studios and KRU Studios. The latter was to give the CGI for the animated characters that included Nico (Zizan Raja Lawak), Mira (Fara Fauzana) and Atuk (Shy8) the 3D treatment in the romantic comedy. "As stereoscopic 3D is becoming the industry's standard format for international screening, "Cinta Kura-Kura" will set a whole new benchmark for local films in enhancing viewers' cinematic experience," commented Executive President of KRU Studios, Norman Abdul Halim. When asked about his thoughts on the movie being Zakaria's first feature film directorial effort , Norman revealed that he has a lot of confidence in his choice and said the KRU Studios are always looking for new talents in scriptwriting, directing, acting and singing. "Nizam done very well in directing the few local television programs so in my opinion, his talent suits the type of production that "Cinta Kura-Kura" is. I also believe that the audience will be entertained by this fantastical romantic-comedy," added Norman. Meanwhile, Nizam was very touched with the trust and investment that KRU Studios had put in him to allow him to direct his first feature film. "I would like to thank the company for giving me a chance to be a director for such a unique movie that is set to redefine genre for the local film industry." "Cinta Kura-Kura" tells the story about Nani, a 21-year-old girl and her unique talking pet, a rare Green Crown Sea Turtle named Nico. Nico serves as an overprotective guardian for Nani, but his biggest task now lies in trying to bring his favoured pet shop owner, Fazli, together with Nani when she falls in love with her neighbour, bad boy Adam.
