Say Hello to "Hello Babies"

"Hello Babies" Raymond Wong, Fiona Sit, Karena Ng and director Vincent Kok.

Hong Kong's latest Chinese New Year comedy, "Hello Babies", is set to hit local cinemas on 30 January 2014. In conjunction with its release, we sat down with actor-producer Raymond Wong, director Vincent Kok and its two actresses, Fiona Sit and Karena Ng where apart from working on the movie, they also talked about competing with other Chinese New Year movies and their upcoming projects this year!

Cinema Online interview with Raymond Wong, Vincent Kok, Fiona Sit and Karena Ng conducted on 23 January 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Q: Tell us about your experience working in "Hello Babies".
Karena: Well, it was a very joyful experience working with them, especially when I got to act alongside Ronald and (Sandra) Ng Kwun-Yu. They really made me laugh each time I saw their 'no good' scenes.

Fiona: Acting with Ronald was a fun experience. Because we got to play our characters who kept challenging each other, there are lots of hilarious moments during the course of the shoot.

During the shoot did you face any difficulties, especially with scenes that needed to be improvised?
Raymond: [Laugh] You see, when one is making a movie with (Vincent) Kok Tak-Chiu, he must follow the script. Prior to shooting, he will do his homework first and then base the scenes according to the script.

Vincent: Well, that depends. During the shoot, we do let Fiona and Ronald improvise their scenes together.

This year, there are plenty of other Chinese New Year movies competing against each other. Do you think "Hello Babies" stands a good chance to do well in Malaysia?
Raymond: I'm very confident with the Malaysian audiences here. Moreover, we have (Eric) Tsang Chi-Wai this time around. After all, our last Chinese New Year comedy, "Hotel Deluxe", did quite well in Malaysia.

Since you work well with (Eric) Tsang Chi-Wai, do you have any future plans to collaborate with him again?
Vincent: I hope we can make an action comedy together. Cause I know that (Eric) Tsang Chi-Wai is very good when it comes to action comedy!

Following "Hello Babies", what will be your next project?
Raymond: I'm currently shooting a movie called "Z Storm". That movie will be headlined by (Louis) Koo Tin-Lok.

"Hello Babies" opens in cinemas nationwide on 30 January.
