17 Jun – After the success of the 3-D animated film "Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula" that has grossed RM 6.3 million in Malaysia and as well lifted our country's name in the world of animation, Les' Copaque returns with another animated film titled "Upin & Ipin: Angkasa" that is expected to release in 2011. "Upin & Ipin: Angkasa" will feature the crowd's favourite two twin brothers, Upin and Ipin as the protagonist in the animated film. It tells a story about two twin brothers and their friends going on a school trip to the National Planetarium. There they meet an alien from another galaxy and decides to follow the alien to its spaceship. It is then they began to experience their new adventure in outerspace. The production of this film is said to surpass the budget of "Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula," which is about RM6 million. This is due to the fact that the technical quality of the film "Upin & Ipin: Angkasa" is higher than that of "Geng." It uses highly advanced sci-fi effect. Nonetheless, Les' Copaque also decides tu produce this film in 3-D. Les' Copaque has signed an agreement with Telekom Malaysia to support a portion of the production cost of the film "Upin & Ipin: Angkasa."
