3 May– The 23rd Malaysian Film Festival 2010 (FFM) is set to return to Kuala Lumpur after last year's grand affair in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. During the FFM press conference, FINAS director-general Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim announced that this year's award ceremony might introduce a new category which is Best Comedy Film.
"We've received many entries for comedy films last year, so there is a high possibility that we'll add in an award category for it. However, that will depend on the number of entries we will receive this year."
The Minister of Information, Communication and Culture is scheduled to officiate the 23rd Malaysian Film Festival 2010 on 16 July at e@Curve, Damansara. Meanwhile, the award ceremony will be held on 18 July at the Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) with special attendance by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.
