3 March – Christian Bale's mother Jenny, who has not spoken to the actor in the past three years, is keen to mend her relationship with her Oscar-winning son, reports NDTVMovies. They have not spoken for three years following a bust-up at a hotel before the premiere of Bale's Batman movie "The Dark Knight" in 2008, which also involved her daughter Sharon. Jenny said she even sent a message to her 37-year-old son congratulating him on his Oscar win but she is still awaiting a reply, the Sun reported online. "I hope this Oscar can bring us together. The family are so pleased for him. This Oscar is well deserved. I saw other celebrities there with their mothers and got upset. I would have loved to have been there by his side," added Jenny regarding the event snub. "I'd love Christian to walk through the door right now. I'd give him a big hug and a kiss and we could forget about the last three years. I don't know why he's doing this," she said."
After their 2008 altercation, Jenny and Sharon claimed the actor threw them out of his suite and since that day, birthday and Christmas cards and other emails have all gone unacknowledged by her superstar son, according to Jenny. Sharon filed a police report which resulted in the actor being arrested but an assault charge was dropped later and "The Fighter" star has since severed all ties with his family.
