28 Apr – "Scream 4" actress Hayden Panettiere has recently revealed her interest in pursuing darker and rebellious roles reports Stars Entertainment. In an interview with Vegas magazine, the 21-year-old star who recently played convicted murderer Amanda Knox in a TV movie, suggested that her rebellious spirit spurs on her interest in taboo subject matter. "I was always a rebel, everything I wasn't supposed to do I wanted to do, so the darker for me, the better," she said. "There are no boundaries. I like to step in the places that are a little bit more dangerous." "I'm getting to the age where I don't want to play high school anymore. I feel like I'm finally getting to that place where I can play those in-their-early-20s roles, which are the ones you can really sink your teeth into," says the actress who is most recognised for her role as a high school cheerleader in TV's "Heroes". Panettiere also noted that she formed a close bond with Neve Campbell and her "Scream 4" co-stars while filming director Wes Craven's slasher movie. She added, "It was like summer camp. Neve had this cottage that she rented, and she would invite everyone over. We'd spend the weekend there all together and barbecue, that kind of stuff."
Panettiere's latest movie will see her in the animated feature "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" as she voices the title character Red, replacing Anne Hathaway who provided the voice acting in the first movie. "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" is a sequel to "Hoodwinked", a swashbuckling adaptation of the Red Riding Hood story where this time around follows Red (Hayden Panettiere) who is in training for the secret Sister Hoods. Now, teaming up with Wolf (Patrick Warburton), Red goes on an adventure to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Hansel and Gretel (voice acted by Bill Hader and Amy Poehler). Cinema Online's "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" guests recently had the opportunity to catch the animated feature two months before its initial release at the Cathay Cineplexes, e@Curve. After the screening, we asked some of our viewers what they thought of the movie overall and how many stars would they rate it out of 5.
"Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil" will open at Malaysian cinemas on 9 June 2011!
