31 Oct - Showbiz Productions Sdn Bhd, with the cooperation of Marna Films, will be presenting a three films in a row this year, namely "Tok Mudim" (21 November), "Ular" (5 December) and "Chikaro" (26 December). Although the reputable KRU Studios' company is only a year old, it has already shown various commercial films that please the taste of the audience; especially for the Malay film buff community. According to the Showbiz Chief Operator, Zarina Abdul Rahman, they have targeted the publishing of 6 films per year, starting in 2014. "Although Showbiz doesn't really have a huge budget to blow, but we will make sure we satisfy the tastes of the audiences besides featuring well-known artists in various genres".
"Our film budgets are usually around RM1 million, although we will still issue a larger allotment for films like "Ular" that has a budget of around RM1.8 million," Zarina remarked. Prior to this, Showbiz had produced the film "Kahwin 5" and the film "Ghosts Kapcai", which has won the title of 'Best Movie' at Anugerah Blokbuster (Blockbuster Awards) in 2012. The film "Hantu Tok Mudim", directed by new director Wan Hafiz and starring a great line up of performers such as Izzue Islam, Soffi Jikan, AR Badul, Harun Salim Bachik and many more. The film "Ular" is directed by and starring Jason Chong along with Yusry Abdul Halim, Lisa Surihani, Izzue Islam and Harun Salim Bachik, and the film "Chikaro" stars Izzue Islam, Izara Aishah and many others.
