4 Jul – Era FM radio DJ Haniff, whose real name is Hanif Hamzah, is surprised and excited to receive an offer for him to dub his voice for the main character in the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures animated film, "Planes".

"I was surprised when Disney Hong Kong contacted me personally to offer me a job because before this everything was done through Astro, but only for the minor characters. Yet this time, I was offered to voice the main character in the animated adventure movie "Planes"," said Haniff.

However, although he has agreed to the offer, he still has to go through an audition.

"Even if they offer me the role, an audition must be carried out as well. Alhamdulillah, hopefully everything goes smoothly and I am able to get the role."

Dusty, the main character for the animation.

Previously, 29-year-old Haniff has only contributed his voice for minor characters, such as in "The Smurfs" and "Madagascar". When asked about the challenges he faced during the dubbing process, Haniff said that it was difficult to take care not to lose his voice as his workload is high and strenuous.

"As radio presenter, I work from 6am to 10am. After four hours of talking on radio, I then have go into the dubbing studio for another seven more hours, which will cause me to lose my voice the next day," explained Haniff.

The Era FM radio DJ will be going to Los Angeles in mid-July to meet up with the original cast of "Planes", which includes Dane Cook, Teri Hatcher and many more.

"Planes" will be screening in theatres starting 15 August 2013, with two versions available, which are English and Malay.
