29 Jun – Young American actress Chloe Grace Moretz is set to star in the big screen adaptation of Susannah Cahalan's best-selling memoir, "Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness".

Moretz will be replacing Dakota Fanning, who was previously attached as the lead actress but has bowed out due to scheduling conflicts, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Produced by "Mad Max: Fury Road" star Charlize Theron and helmed by filmmaker Gerard Barrett, the movie cast also includes "Me & Earl & the Dying Girl" actor Thomas Mann.

The book which the movie will be based on chronicles author Cahalan's personal experience battling with a rare autoimmune disease, so rare it was only officially discovered three years before she was diagnosed with it. The illness caused the New York Post writer to plunge into insanity and lose memory of a month of her life.

Theron and Moretz recently worked together on the movie adaptation of Gillian Flynn's "Dark Places", which is now playing in Malaysian cinemas but will only open in Singaporean cinemas on 2 July and North American cinemas on 7 July.

Moretz will also appear in sci-fi thriller "The 5th Wave" and crime drama "November Criminals", both set for theatrical release next year.
