8 Dec – The highly-anticipated Steven Spielberg self-biopic is set to be released next year. The movie reportedly will revolve around Spielberg's childhood in Arizona that had inspired countless of his movie characters and story themes.

The news was announced by the filmmaker's company, Amblin Partners and production studio Universal on 5 December, saying that the movie, "The Fablemans", will be in cinemas on Thanksgiving weekend of 23 November 2022.


The coming-of-age movie is loosely based on Spielberg's own formative years in Arizona, with Michelle Williams to play the role of his mother, Paul Dano as his father and Seth Rogen as his favourite uncle.


Gabriel LaBelle to play the young Spielberg in the movie

On the other hand, newcomer Gabriel LaBelle will be playing the role of a young Spielberg himself.

The movie is written by Spielberg himself alongside Tony Kushner, with the filmmaker also producing alongside Kushner and Kristie Macosko Krieger.
