Scripts, stages, and shorts: Three competitions set to ignite creative passions

28 Mar - Thousands Of Years Media (ToYm) has unveiled an exciting trio of competitions designed to nurture and celebrate creative talents across multiple disciplines. The media company is offering a substantial total prize pool of over RM370,000 to encourage aspiring artists and content creators.

1. The ToYm Microseries - Scriptwriting Competition
The first competition, the ToYm Microseries - Scriptwriting Competition, invites writers to submit original 30-episode scripts with a runtime of 2 minutes per episode. Participants can explore any theme, with significant cash prizes awaiting the top talents.

The winning script will receive RM30,000, the second-place entry RM20,000, and a consolation prize of RM5,000 is also available. Interested writers must submit their scripts by May 4, with finalists to be announced on May 23 and an award ceremony scheduled for June 15.

2. ToYm Shining Star Idol Competition
For performers aged 18 to 30, the ToYm Shining Star Idol Competition presents a golden opportunity to showcase their talents. With a generous prize pool of RM220,000, the competition offers more than just monetary rewards. Register online before April 8 as auditions take place on April 12 and 13.

From April 19 to 24, those who passed will undergo training as an all-boys or all-girls group before a debut night in May. Winners get to score cash prizes, a talent contract and a limited-edition trophy.

3. ToYm Best Micro Drama Competition
The third competition, ToYm Best Micro Drama Competition, focuses on short-form storytelling. Content creators are invited to develop 10-episode micro dramas, with each episode running between 1 to 2 minutes.

The competition offers impressive prize money, including a top prize of RM100,000, a second prize of RM50,000, and five additional prizes of RM10,000 each. Submissions will be accepted from March 28 to May 15, with the top 7 entries to be announced on May 30 and an award ceremony on June 15.

The competitions have already generated significant buzz, attracting attention from creative communities and promising to uncover exceptional artistic talent.
