7 Apr - Rajinikanth's highly anticipated project with Lokesh Kanagaraj has finally found its release date just in time for India to celebrate its Independence Day.

Sun Pictures recently shared the good news with a new poster unveiling the release date of "Coolie", the actor's 171st film on X, captioning it, "Sound-ah yethu! Deva Varraaru #Coolie worldwide from August 14th."

The film, which reportedly revolves around a gold smuggling ring, has Rajinikanth playing a character called Deva.

Principal photography started in Chennai back in July 2024, with the actor starring in the movie alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan among others.

Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, with Lokesh Kanagaraj in the director's seat.
