Sridevi's best movies of all time

Sridevi Boney Kapoor, or more commonly known as Sridevi, was a legendary Indian actress who worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada movies. She was considered Hindi cinema's first superstar having starred in more than 240 movies in her lifetime. With five Filmfare Awards under her belt, she was hailed as one of the most accomplished Indian performers of all time. News of Sridevi's recent untimely death due to cardiac arrest broke millions of her fans' hearts. Although leaving us early, she will always be remembered for her outstanding performances through her wide range of movies. It would be impossible to choose from her 248 movies to list as her best, but here are six of her exceptional works throughout her 54 years of life in no particular order.

Himmatwala

"Himmatwala" is director K. Raghavendra Rao's remake of his own "Ooruki Monagadu", which stars Sridevi in the lead role alongside her usual partner, Jeetendra. Sridevi plays a mother and wife who lost her husband before her son returns home to avenge his death.

Nagina

"Nagina" is a fantasy movie which was the second highest-grossing movie in 1986. Rajni, played by Sridevi, is a Nagini who marries a civilian to avenge the death of her spouse at the hands of an evil saint.

ChaalBaaz

"ChaalBaaz" is a remake of 1972's "Seeta Aur Geeta", which won Sridevi a Best Actress award in the Filmfare Awards for her portrayal of twins. The movie is about long lost twins who meet up accidentally. Both are polar opposites; Anju is a victim of domestic abuse and Manju is a street smart girl.
