In the past one week or so, the entertainment press have been clobbering on the news that the movie Planet of the Apes, has not been completed yet, and that there were last minute orders for re-shoot and editing. In fact, there was suppose to be a press screening in America for the press on the 12th of July, but it was postponed because the movie was still in a post-production process. Many feared that the movie would not be ready in time for the July 27th general release.

Tim Burton, the director, however, was astonished by the buzz around the issue. He stresses that these things are normal in the filmmaking realm. It would be unusual for a director to just finish up a movie and leave it up to the studios prior before the movie releases. And with an artist such as Burton helming the movie who is also a well-known perfectionist, it is no wonder that post-production took so long.

The latest "Planet of the Apes" movie is neither a remake nor a sequel to the original. Rather it is a retelling from the original concept. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Tim Roth, Helena Bonham Carter and Estella Warren. The film will be release in Malaysia next week.
