20 Nov – Around the globe, fans are bent on turning Catherine Hardwicke's vampire romance adaptation "Twilight" into an event of the season. Advance tickets in the U.S. are outpacing even Disney's favourite "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" according to Variety, and hundreds of midnight screenings are yet to be added. Robert Pattinson, who plays lead vampire Edward Cullen in the movie, was even named People Magazine 2008's Sexiest Man Alive recently. It's a week before "Twilight" opens in Malaysia yet there is hardly any promotion going around from the distributor and the cinemas. As a result, discontented Cinema Online forumers and other fans, calling themselves "Twilighters", created their own Malaysian Twilighters blog, in which they highlight the buzz surrounding the much-anticipated movie. One Cinema Online forumer posted: "I have not seen any posters on any billboards around KL or PJ. Aren't they aware that it's Twilight Fever all over the world? I know a lot of my friends are talking about it but the distributor needs to promote this movie to those who are clueless about 'Twilight'. It's not even close to a pontianak movie, which is what people think it is. That's more like Maya Karin stuff! This is a vampire romance and it has a very huge following all around the world." On the other hand, get ready for Cinema Online's official "Twilight" microsite, coming to you before the movie opens! "Twilight" will be biting in cinemas 27 November 2008!
