Wolverine crowd at Pyramid

Only few seats left for "X-Men", but more left in the later showtimes.

30 Apr – "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" opened yesterday in 71 cinemas nationwide with major showtimes at Cathay Cineleisure Damansara, Cathay City Square, GSC Mid Valley, GSC Gurney Plaza, GSC Berjaya Times Square and TGV Sunway Pyramid. In anticipation of the hype, Cinema Online paid a night visit to TGV Sunway Pyramid to see the crowd response for one this year's major blockbuster.

Two different queues lead to the box office counter: "Blockbuster movie: X-Men" and "Other movies." While the special "X-Men" queue never failed to be full, other movies were also fairly occupied. According to an undisclosed source, "The response had been fairly reasonable, based on the feedback collected from the cinemas. It was definitely better than the previous third "X-Men" film by a 25% increase. Hopefully with the Labour day holiday tomorrow and over the weekend, the film will receive a much greater response from moviegoers."

A separate queue dedicated for "X-Men" ticket buyers.

"X-Men" ticket holders at the scene expressed their surprise as to how easy it was to purchase their tickets on opening day itself, assuming that blockbuster film tickets are hard to get when just released. Find out more about their comments and expectations for the film below.

How Keen (left): "I'm surprised my girlfriend managed to get these tickets when she bought online just two hours ago! I love the previous 'X-Men' films and I hope to see Wolverine get stronger in this one. Can't wait to see Gambit as well! He's going to be amazing as the villain."

(l-r) Abdullah Shihaib and Noor Shams: "We bought 10 tickets from the counter! We're all very excited and we hope to see a better storyline in this one, as the third 'X-Men' film wasn't as good as expected. We just look forward to seeing the 'X-Men' legend continue to base itself on the comic."

Ariff Bukhari: "I've watched all three 'X-Men' films and I hope to be stunned again by its amazing visual effects. I'm really excited to see Wolverine in action again on the big screen."

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is now showing in cinemas!
