"Fist Of Dragon" opens late-2011

Veteran comedian Henry Thia & director Michael Chuah.

2 Dec – Directed by Malaysian filmmaker Michael Chuah ("Seed Of Darkness"), "Fist Of Dragon" which was initially set to screen earlier this year in China, Singapore and Malaysia has been postponed to late-2011.

Chuah explained during a recent interview with Cinema Online, "Earlier on, we were having censorship issues in China as the triad element is apparently too strong."

He added, "Thankfully, it has just passed censorship so China's release will be around August 2011. Now we're working on the distribution date for Singapore and then Malaysia."

A co-production between Desen International Media Co., Ltd. (China) and Fusion Media Pte Ltd (Singapore), the martial arts flick tells the story of a man named Li (Chuah), who travels from China to a small town in Malaysia to help his financially-imperilled uncle from local mobsters.

When he decides to teach them a lesson, Li incurs the wrath of the triads who threaten the entire town.

Shot in Malacca and China, the movie features Singaporean actress Fiona Xie ("Rule No. 1") and actor Henry Thia ("Old Cow Tender Grass"), who will both star alongside Chinese actress Wang Xiao-chen ("Legend Of The Condor Heroes").
