20 Sep – The long-awaited 3-screen TGV cineplex at Mesra Mall in the Kerteh / Kemaman area will open to the public this Saturday, 25 September 2010. According to TGV Cinemas, the 3-screen location is located on the ground floor of the mall and there will be plans to add another two screens to the premises in the future. Mesra Mall, reportedly a RM 100 million ultra-modern shopping complex built on a 12ha site, opened its doors to shoppers in the Kerteh petroleum town back in October 2008 and promises to be a new landmark for shoppers and tourists coming to Terengganu, according to its website. With Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd managing the operations, the complex is developed by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd through its two subsidiaries - Metro Kemasik Sdn Bhd and KLCC Projek Sdn Bhd.
It is understood that there will be an official launch for industry players, partners and the media on a later date. TGV Cinemas seems to be on a rebranding exercise spree, recently launching their new concept TGV Wangsa Walk in Wangsa Maju, adding several 3D projectors to their existing locations and also getting on Facebook and Twitter (http://twitter.com/TGVCinemas).
