20 June – What's with all the news about stars parading their pregnancy these days? Singapore TV queen Zoe Tay is following the footsteps of Hollywood stars by revealing that she is set to deliver her third baby due October 2010.
Zoe Tay, the 'Queen Of Caldecott Hill' (nicknamed after the site where Mediacorp used to be located) had said that she and her husband, RSAF pilot Philip Chionh planned to have another baby at the end of this year, and this was an 'unexpected pregnancy'. The doting parents have two boys, five-year-old Brayden and three-year-old Ashton.
Rumours arose when Zoe dropped out from shooting Mediacorp's drama "Unriddle", which she kept mum on, apparently due to Chinese taboo about not announcing one's pregnancy during the first trimester. Now that it's confirmed, Zoe Tay's contract negotiations with Mediacorp has also been put on hold after she returns from her maternity leave in February 2011.
Fans of the 42-year-old veteran actress can still catch her in "Love Cuts" portraying a 40-year-old mother of two who struggles with breast cancer. Hong Kong actor Kenny Ho ("Storm Warriors II") will also join Zoe as her husband. Expect several topless scenes from Zoe Tay in "Love Cuts" too while Kenny bathes her sickly character!
"Love Cuts" is slated to open in Singapore in October 2010. No Malaysian release has been confirmed.
