Writer: Roy Lim Jian-Min

19 Feb – British actress Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner are confirmed as Gretel and Hansel respectively in the dark reboot of the Grimm Brothers fairytale under the direction of Tommy Wirkola ("Dead Snow") entitled "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters", as reported by The Playlist.

The movie is set about 15 years after the incident at the Evil Witch's Gingerbread House. The siblings now make a living as paranormal bounty hunters, and their forte is witches.

According to CinemaBlend and Deadline, joining the duo as the leader of the coven of nasty witches is former Bond girl and one-time member of the "X-Men", Famke Janssen.

The casting of the Hansel & Gretel remake looks concrete as Gemma Arterton seems to be improving her game as a potential major player after her roles in "Clash Of The Titans" and "Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time", while Jeremy Renner is a force to be reckoned with after his multi-award nominated performance in the Oscar-winning war drama "The Hurt Locker".

The talented duo will surely pack a potential hit, based on their previous movie roles when the movie begins production.

For Janssen, despite being out of the movie scene for quite some time, the "House On Haunted Hill" actress might just bring a much bigger impact with her comeback as a coven leader in "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters".
