2 Sep – "The Help" drama managed to pack in US $14.5 million in its second week as it maintains first place, while the Zoe Saldana starring action movie "Colombiana" opens up to second place, leaving "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" to topple at the third spot for the weekend just gone (25 - 29 August), according to online tracker Box Office Mojo.
In Malaysia, audiences found "Final Destination 5" to be thrilling enough to take the top spot this week, while Pixar's latest "Cars 2" opens up at second place, leaving the "Conan The Barbarian" remake to debut at a weak third place in the local box office. Singapore saw a similar reception with "Final Destination 5" helming the charts, as "Cars 2" takes the second spot, leaving the Malaysian banned Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz starring "Bad Teacher" debuting at a poor third place in the local box office for the weekend just gone. Other new releases and sneak shows last week in Malaysia include "Yuvan Yuvathi", "Captain Abu Raed", "Summer Love Love" and "Overheard 2". In Singapore, other new releases and sneak shows last week include "Treasure Hunt" with "Bol" and "Bodyguard" which opened this week.
