Bale is Noah

June 18 - Vulture website reports that Christian Bale is in talks to star in the lead role of writer-director Darren Aronofsky new movie about the biblical story of the Great Flood, entitled "Noah".

Multi-talented actor Christian Bale is currently filming "The Dark Knight Rises".

The website adds that Aronofsky, who recently bailed out from directing the upcoming "Wolverine" sequel, is said to be looking for a US $130 million budget for this project, and getting a talented actor like Bale would definitely help secure that kind of big-scale financing.

Bale starred in "The Fighter" last year, which won him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The actor who plays some of the most difficult of roles, from Patrick Bateman in "American Psycho to Trevor Reznik in "The Machinist" (a film in which he lost a staggering amount of weight), to the intensity he brings as "The Dark Knight" is reportedly director Aronofsky's first choice to play Noah.

Screenwriter John Logan ("Gladiator", "The Last Samurai") is working with Aronofsky to write the script.

Bale is currently filming on Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises". He's also set to star in the drama "The Last Photograph" a story about a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the sole survivor of an attack on Americans.
