4 Jul – After being married for 2 years and separated for more than 6 months, "Green Lantern" actor Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation") have finally made their split legal with a divorce papers filed last week, according to Entertainment Weekly website.
The couple's marriage had been dissolved by a judge in Los Angeles last weekend and their divorce papers seem to be available online citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause. Since the initial separation back in December 2010, Johansson has been seen with Sean Penn ("Tree of Life") actor for a reported brief fling, while Reynolds was busy handling the shooting and promotional appearances for his latest movie, "Green Lantern". On his divorce, Reynolds recently revealed to Details magazine that, "The media was not invited to my marriage, and they're definitely not invited into the divorce. I don't think I want to get married again." The 34-year-old actor then added, "Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it. I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be?" It was reported that Johansson too, spoke about the split in an interview a few months back, and said that being apart from Reynolds due to busy filming schedules was tough on their relationship. After Reynolds ended things with his fiancée of four years, singer Alanis Morrisette, he started dating Johansson. On 5 May 2008, they announced their engagement and on 14 December 2010 they separated.
