19 Oct – While rock and roll fans are getting excited to see "The Dictator" star Sasha Baron Cohen playing Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury on the big screen, "Trouble with the Curve" actress Amy Adams is attached to portray the Queen Of Rock And Roll, Janis Joplin, in the late music legend's biopic, according to New York Post.
Joplin first rose to fame as the lead singer of her rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company during the late 1960s. She went on to produce unforgettable classics such as "Down On Me", "Summertime", "Piece Of My Heart", "Cry Baby" and her sole number one hit, "Me And Bobby McGee", as a solo artist. Her death shocked the music world, and was cited as due to drug overdose. She was just 27. Meanwhile, Adams will next be seen as Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman's girlfriend Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's 2013 superhero film "Man Of Steel".
