27 Jun – Actress Sigourney Weaver has confirmed that James Cameron is planning to film the three sequels to his 2009 highly acclaimed "Avatar" back-to-back. According to Showbiz411, Weaver said that she has been scheduled to appear on set for the shooting of "Avatar 2", "Avatar 3" and "Avatar 4" after she has finished her part in an on-going play during the premiere screening of her latest dramedy series, "Political Animals". "I just show up," was all she said when asked how long the shoot of the three sequels would take and how director James Cameron was going to fit her character back in after the events of "Avatar". Previously, Cameron had reportedly disbanded the development arm of his company and would be entirely focused on making sequels of "Avatar". "I'm in the "Avatar" business. Period. That's it. I'm making "Avatar", "Avatar 2", "Avatar 3", maybe "Avatar 4"," Cameron said last month. "Avatar" became the highest grossing film in the United States, beating Cameron's previous own record of 1997's "Titanic", and was the first movie to surpass the US$2 billion mark after its entire theatrical run.
