12 Aug – As the curtain for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" trilogy falls this summer, the Dark Knight himself, Christian Bale, has already hung up his cape and cowl for a role as the lead in director Todd Field's new crime drama, "The Creed Of Violence", an adaptation of Boston Teran's, one of American cult authors, novel on the Mexican Revolution, according to HitFix. "The Creed Of Violence" is set during the Mexican Revolution in 1910. Bale, 38, will play Rawbone, a small-time assassin who tries to transport a cache of weapons into Mexico to facilitate the country's revolution. Rawbone is eventually caught, but ends up joining forces with a young FBI agent named John Lourdes who shares a hidden connection to him, and the two try to stop a Mexican organization behind an arms smuggling ring. Field is set to direct. A three-time Academy Award nominated filmmaker and actor, Todd Field is best known for directing the 2001 American crime drama film "In the Bedroom", starring Tom Wilkinson and Sissy Spacek, and the 2006 American drama film "Little Children", which stars Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson. "The hallucinogenic epic that Rawbone traverses with the young John Lourdes produces one of the most exciting literary pairings since Fagin met Twist," said Field. He added, "Rawbone is a raconteur straddling the old West and belle epoque... braided with wit, cold-blooded efficiency and a surprisingly expansive soul."
Last year, Golden Globe Award winner Leonardo Dicaprio had been offered a role in the crime film but there was word from the actor regarding the matter since. Nevertheless, the "Inception" star is not attached to any film after shooting Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf Of Wall Street", which also stars Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill so it is still possible for Dicaprio to join the cast. Financed by Cross Creek Pictures and produced by Michael De Luca of "The Social Network", "The Creed Of Violence" marks Field's first directorial effort since "Little Children". The production team is aiming to shoot the movie in Mexico early 2013.
