9 Feb – Last weekend's North American box office chart (2 to 5 Feb) was topped by Josh Trank's found-footage superhero film "Chronicle" about 3 teenagers obtaining miraculous superpowers which earned US $34.8 million at the domestic box office. Coming in second is British horror-thriller film "The Woman In Black", starring "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe in his first role since the end of his Wizarding saga bringing in a good US $20 million. The biggest downer however would be that last week's champion, "The Grey", has now fallen deep to third place, proving maybe that teenagers with superpowers and a vengeful-spirited ghost could possibly be more entertaining than an action icon like Liam Neeson battling against werewolves. Making its debut and coming in at second place however is "Chronicle", while "Underworld: Awakening" loses its bite, dropping to third place for the weekend just gone. In Singapore, "Underworld: Awakening" has attained the crowning glory creating a conclusion that Singaporeans like seeing Kate Beckinsale in a tight black skin suit. Also making its debut in Singapore is "Chronicle", successfully knocking off "We Not Naughty", directed by Jack Neo, one spot down to third place for the weekend just gone. In Malaysia, other releases over the weekend were "Marina", "Kollaikaran", "Azura", "War Horse" and "Haywire". On the other hand, other releases in Singapore was only "Quick", with new release coming this week that include "The Wedding Diary", "The Billionaire", "J. Edgar", "Safe House", "Romancing In Thin Air" and "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu".
