21 Oct – European Film Award winner Ewan McGregor has been confirmed to be playing the male lead in the upcoming Peter Capaldi's romantic comedy, "Born To Be King", according to Chicago Tribune. In the film, the Scottish actor plays a film extra who bears an uncanny resemblance to a Hollywood star, which leads to a film starlet falling in love with him in a case of mistaken identity. Frequent romantic comedy star Kate Hudson is reportedly in negotiations to join the film as the female lead. "Born To Be King" exemplifies the type of high-quality product Indomina aims to bring to the international marketplace," said Stephanie Denton, Indomina's head of international sales and distribution. Indomina Releasing is responsible for the worldwide sales of Capaldi's piece. She added, "Peter's screenplay seamlessly weaves the story of the film within the film. It's an exciting, entertaining, and genuinely funny project. Ewan and Kate are the perfect onscreen pair to bring this story to life." Production of the film is set to begin in January next year at Pinewood Studios in England.
McGregor is currently working on John Wells' adaptation of Tracy Letts' play "August: Osage County", in which he plays Bill Fordham, a college professor who leaves his wife for one of his students, yet still wants to be there for his family, alongside Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Fans will also get to see him in Bryan Singer's fantasy adventure thriller "Jack The Giant Slayer" in 2013. Meanwhile, Hudson will be seen next in "The Reluctant Fundamentalist", a political thriller directed by the director of "Amelia", Mira Nair.
