24 Aug – Fans of the Ryan Reynolds' "Buried" get ready, for the 2010 Spanish-American thriller film is set to receive a makeover treatment for Bollywood, with producer Saurabh Varma having reportedly bought the rights to the film. According to Digital Spy, Varma will adapt the script for an Indian audience, and he is hoping to secure either John Abraham or Abhishek Bachchan for the lead role, although "Ra.One" villain Arjun Rampal was also approached. "We want an A-list actor for the lead. Right now we are looking to develop a good script because it is a Hollywood concept, and needs to be 'Indianised'. We need some desi elements that are acceptable to the audience," said the first-time producer. He added, "It's in a nascent stage. I will approach the actors once I have a bound script in hand." When asked how the idea for the remake came about, Varma explained, "I have been a fan of this film for a long time. I approached the studio with an idea and they liked it. It will be a commercial film. It's a challenge for any actor to keep audiences engrossed for 120 minutes."
"Buried" tells the story of a truck driver in Iraq named Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds), who is buried alive inside a coffin with only a few items, which includes a lighter and a mobile phone, and he has to escape before the oxygen runs out.
