21 Nov – After almost a year and a half since its establishment of the open air strip-mall; Citta Mall, and the announcement of MBO's new location, the 9 hall cinema will finally be opening its doors to the public tomorrow on 22 November 2012. Albeit housing 9 halls with a decent seating capacity of 1, 617, the new cinema will only be operating 4 halls for the time being until the remaining 5 halls are completed by the end of this year.
The opening comes 3 months after the relaunch of the 8 hall MBO The Spring in Kuching, Sarawak, with a new retro look and the state's first 3D hall. MBO Citta Mall is strategically located less than 5 kilometres away from the LDP which houses a GSC cinema in Paradigm Mall - its closest competitor - and is the first cinema to establish itself amongst the suburban community of the Ara Damansara area with only a stone's throw away from the Subang Airport highway.
Along with the opening of MBO Citta Mall, tomorrow marks an auspicious day for the cinema industry as two other cinema related developments will be taking place as well. The first is the opening of the new 8 hall TGV cinema at SetiaWalk Mall, Puchong, while the other is the launch of 4 new additional halls at Cathay Cineplex e@Curve, bringing its total of number of halls to a whopping 16 halls.
