6 Dec – Both Ekin Cheng and Charlene Choi had not expected a sequel ten years after playing couple Cheung Sub Sam and Yo Yo Ma, who got together because of an arranged marriage despite their 12-year age gap. When the chance came, the two just leapt at the opportunity. "It's interesting to see how the both of them turn out after so many years. But it would be even more interesting to see the development of the couple after another ten years or more, like from the point of view of Yo Yo as a grandmother. We could make a trilogy for them, like "Lord Of The Rings", said Choi. Flying into Malaysia recently to promote "My Sassy Hubby", Cheng and Choi explained that the movie portrays the meeting of cultures in modern Hong Kong with Mainland Chinese.
"By following the story of Sam and Yo Yo, you get to see the cultures unfold along the way. The audience will get to compare and learn more about the people in current Hong Kong," said Cheng. "My Sassy Hubby" is the sequel to the movie "My Wife Is 18", and is currently playing in cinemas in Malaysia.
