23 Mar – After their first successful celebration of filmed entertainment with various international members of the movie industry in June last year, Singapore's film convention known as ScreenSingapore, will once again be held in the Lion City for the second time in December this year, according to Film Business Asia. It was announced that Reed Exhibitions' Asia Television Forum (ATF) will co-host the grand event this year at Marina Bay Sands, which will take place from 5 to 7 December 2012. The concept behind ScreenSingapore's collaboration with ATF is to offer policy makers, investors, filmmakers and creative talent from all over the world an opportunity and a platform to share filmmaking and business ideas with one another in order to further develop the Asian movie and television market. "The strategic coupling of ScreenSingapore with Asia's leading entertainment TV content market will boost Asia's production industry, and encourage more international collaboration," said Greg Coote, ScreenSingapore's Chairman of the Board. Michelle Lim, MD of Reed Exhibitions added, "To continuously evolve into a more comprehensive entertainment content marketplace, ATF is looking to expand its television-largely content to also include digital innovations, film and new media content, in tandem with the convergence of traditional and new-age entertainment content platforms. It therefore makes sense to co-locate ScreenSingapore with ATF." It is said that the co-location of both shows this year may see more big-named stars and exclusive screenings and premieres, following last year's ScreenSingapore's high-profile guest lineup. The 3-day event ended with the Asian Pacific premiere of "Larry Crown" at Shaw Lido, in the presence of stars, which included the movie's Oscar-winning lead Tom Hanks, Asian stars Zhang Ziyi, Lee Byung-hun and Vaness Wu.
