26 Mar – The epic sounding movie title sounds like a definite blockbuster, but "Olympus Has Fallen" only managed to climb to second spot in both Malaysia and the United States for the weekend of 21 to 24 March 2013. The film to beat is the family-friendly animated feature, "The Croods", which features a star-studded voice line-up of Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds and Catherine Keener. "The Croods" tells the story of the world's first prehistoric family, whose leader and also father, Grug, tries to protect his family by discouraging curiosity and all things new. However, his position as "Leader of the Hunt" is threatened by the arrival of a prehistoric genius, Guy, when he tells them that the end is near and takes them with him as they trek through a dangerous but exotic land in search of a new home. In third place for Malaysia was "Ah Boys To Men: Part 2" while "Oz The Great And Powerful" rounded up the top three for US.
On the other hand, in Singapore, things took a very different turn with Nicholas Hoult's "Warm Bodies" in first place, with "Oz The Great And Powerful" trailing in second place. In third place is "Jack The Giant Slayer". Other new movies that opened over the week in Malaysia are "Gila-Gila Remaja 2", "Side Effects", "Finding Mr Right", "Bola Kampung The Movie" and "Andrea Bocelli: Love In Portofino". Other new movies that opened over the week in Singapore are "Side Effects", "Django Unchained", "V/H/S", "Promised Land", "Gambit", and "Helter Skelter".
