3 Sep – The film based on the best-selling book about the BDSM relationship of a 27-year-old billionaire with a 21-year-old college student has finally found their actors. The role of the billionaire Christian Grey will be played by "Pacific Rim" star Charlie Hunnam and the role of Anastasia Steele will be played by "21 Jump Street" star Dakota Johnson.
The casting news broke earlier today when author of the trilogy herself, E. L. James took to Twitter to make the announcements.
Hunnam is best known for his role in the television show "Sons of Anarchy" and most recently starred in the summer blockbuster film "Pacific Rim". He will also be in Guillermo Del Toro's "Crimson Peak", which is slated to begin shooting early next year.
Johnson, on the other hand was seen recently in the now cancelled comedy television series "Ben & Kate" in the titular female role. Apart from "21 Jump Street", she also had a part in and "The Social Network", and will appear in next year's "Need for Speed".
"50 Shades of Grey" is an erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James about Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. It has sold over 70 million copies worldwide, with book rights having been sold in 37 countries, and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the "Harry Potter" series.
"50 Shades of Grey" will release in cinemas next year and will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson who had worked on "Nowhere Boy".
