20 Mar – Many of us in Malaysia are eagerly awaiting the new epic film by Malaysian studios KRU Studios, but it looks like "Vikingdom" will be out in the American market way before we get to see it for ourselves. Having just finished the post-production process in Los Angeles, it will also be shown to audiences there first on 26 and 27 March. Yusry Abdul Halim, who had directed the film, stated that it was because he wanted to wait for Malaysian theatres to go through the process of digitalisation first.
Norman Abdul Halim, Executive President of KRU Studios said, "I wanted to show it to the United States' market because it is broader, but that doesn't mean that we will ignore the local market." He also mentions that the local market will only get to see it next year, "There are already a lot of films waiting for their turn. So rather than waiting, it will be better if we show it to the US first." The film stars international actors like Dominic Purcell ("Prison Break"), Craig Fairbrass ("Eastenders") and Natassia Malthe ("This Means War").
