11 May – Australian director Baz Luhrmann, who reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio for "The Great Gatsby", with DiCaprio playing F. Scott Fitzgerald's all-American antihero lead, has revealed his intentions to collaborate with the actor again for "Hamlet". "To me, Gatsby is the American Hamlet. What else could we possibly do as a follow-up?" he remarked. Nothing is confirmed yet, though. "It's just a dream at this point," said the director. Earlier, Luhrmann gave DiCaprio his significant breakthrough as a leading man by casting him as Romeo in his 1996 film version of Shakespeare's play, "Romeo + Juliet".
