2 Dec – The commercial for Cool Water by Davidoff starring recently deceased actor Paul Walker ran during the broadcast of the football match between Chelsea and Southampton, and it caused an outrage by fans of the "Fast and Furious" star. The bad timing of the advertisement was struck many as macabre as it had been less than a day since the 40 year old actor perished in a fiery car wreck. "Just saw the #davidoff advert with Paul Walker in it. This is such bad taste! What were they thinking? RIP Paul Walker," said a fan on Twitter.
The Cool Water by Davidoff commercial showed the actor racing a fancy sports car and stopping at a nearby cliff, where he jumped off and dove in the ocean. Walker had also been a spokesman/model for the brand. "With Davidoff, there's always a link to the ocean. When you think of one, you think of the other so they just go hand in hand. (The cologne) is cool without trying to be, and I like to think that it beats on my own drum. My first love was the ocean, so when they asked me to (join the ad campaign) I was honoured," said Paul Walker about the cologne during the campaign for it two years ago.
