RM110 mil home for M'sian producer

28 Dec - Malaysian born banker-turned-movie-producer Riza Aziz buys a swanky pad in New York. The "Wolf of Wall Street" kickstarter spent RM110 million for a home in the Upper West Side of New York City, even if he does spend most of his time in Los Angeles.

The home is reportedly a seven bedroom home in Park Lourel at 15 West 63rd Street.

The producer also kept busy with "The Wolf of Wall Street" starring Leonardo Dicaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese, which Aziz invested in with Joey McFarland who acquired the rights to the film.

"Aziz, who reportedly makes his money as an investment banker, has been pegged as a producer to watch. He is one of a new generation of film financiers making their mark in Hollywood, according to a recent story in Variety," wrote The Real Deal.

On June 2013, it was announced that Aziz and McFarland's Red Granite Pictures will produce bobby and Peter Farrelly's Dumb and Dumber To" with a projected release date of 14 November 2014.

Aside from being one of Variety's top ten producers to watch in 2011, Aziz also happens to be the son of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" is set to be released in 2 January 2014.
