Aamir Khan to retire from acting

2 Sep – The recipient of numerous awards and nominations, Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan, better known as, Aamir Khan has recently revealed his retirement from the film industry.

released on 19 December 2014.
During the promotional screening of "Satyamev Jayate: Season 3", an Indian television talk show created by Aamir focusing on sensitive social issues in India, Aamir confessed that audiences no longer have great interest in his movies.

"When I was shooting in Rajasthan for "PK", reporters didn't ask me a single question about the film. They were interested in "Satyamev Jayate"," said Aamir to the reporters.

With a laugh, he added, "I think people are not interested in my films and it's time for me to retire. Achha ho gaya "Dhoom: 3" ne bacha liya [Good thing "Dhoom: 3" was safe from that], it did well."

Aamir Khan latest film "PK" is a comedy drama film directed by Rajikumar Hirani starring Aamir Khan as the main lead. According to Hirani, the film will be a satire of "God and Godmen".

On his latest film, Aamir said that he has faith in his audience.

"People have been watching my films for the past 25 years and as an actor, I have confidence in my audience."

"PK" is scheduled for release on 19 December 2014 and will feature Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt in supporting roles.
