"Avengers" to shoot in Korea


Get ready for the "Avengers" in Korea!

20 Feb - Some key elements of its superhero sequel "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will film in the South Korean capital of Seoul, Marvel confirmed.

In addition to Korea, the international production schedule for Marvel's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" includes shoots in London, where the production will be based, as well as Johannesburg, South Africa and Aosta Valley, Italy.

South Korea is the perfect location for a movie of this magnitude because it features cutting-edge technology, beautiful landscapes and spectacular architecture," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. "We would especially like to thank the ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) for making it possible for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" to come to Korea."


James Spader will star in the sequel as Ultron.

We're very excited to have the production in Korea, and also expect this to serve as the footstep of many more opportunities yet to come," added Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea Yoo Jinryong.

The film's cast will include the original cast consisting of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

The film will also include newcomers like Aaron Taylor Johnson as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and James Spader as Ultron.

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be released in Malaysia and Singapore on 30 April 2015.
