"Batman vs. Superman" delayed

Fans will have to wait longer to watch Batman fight Superman.

20 Jan – As if 2015 is not a long time to wait for a Batman versus Superman film, Warner Bros. have decided to further delay the film to give director Zack Snyder more time, so fans will only be able to watch the film in 2016.

According to The Wrap, the untitled 'Batman Vs. Superman' film's release date on 17 July 2015 has been pushed back for almost 10 months to 6 May 2016, to "allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story," Warner Bros. stated in a press release.

"Fast & Furious" alumni Gal Gadot is set to appear as Wonder Woman in the 'Batman vs. Superman' film.
Warner Bros.' rescheduling was made "following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year." The film was initially set to start shooting in spring, leading to various speculations such as Ben Affleck sustaining a severe leg injury and the possibility of the film turning into a Justice League film, following word that Gal Gadot has joined as Diana Pierce a.k.a. Wonder Woman.

To occupy the vacated slot instead is Joe Wright's untitled "Peter Pan" film, which will be yet another retelling of J.M. Barrie's boy who would never grow up. No details have been released about the cast yet.
