Bettany to play The Vision

8 Feb – Paul Bettany, who is best known in the Marvel universe for voicing Tony Stark's best A.I pal J.A.R.V.I.S., and the star of "A Beautiful Mind" and "Priest" is tapped to play The Vision, for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron".

The Vision was created in the comics by villain Ultron, but he turns against him and teams with the Avengers. Ultron calls The Vision a 'synthezoid', which he intended to use against his creator, Dr. Henry Pym (Ant-Man) and Pym's wife (Wasp). Ultron would later send his robotic servant to lead the Avengers into a trap.

Wasp is the first to person to encounter the "synthezoid," and describes it as a "vision" while she's trying to escape. After he adopts the new name, The Vision is then convinced by the Avengers to turn against Ultron and help them destroy his creator.

Or, at least, this was the storyline for The Vision made by the comics. There's no telling where he will be leading to in the film.

Bettany will finally get to be on screen after only hearing his voice in three "Iron Man" films and "The Avengers". He's played an incredible part as J.A.R.V.I.S. and has a massive fan base due in no small part to his incredible voice and sense of humour as Tony's A.I. sidekick.

No word yet on whether he will do double duty in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron as both the Vision and JARVIS.
